During your initial appointment, Dr. Holbrook will take molds of your mouth to create the trays— unlike over-the-counter whitening trays; these customized ones are designed to fit around every contour of your mouth.

During your second appointment, Dr. Holbrook will make sure that your new trays fit your mouth and will make any tweaks or adjustments as necessary. Then, he will send you home with your new trays and a whitening gel to put in them. You can either wear them twice a day for 30 minutes at a time, or you can wear them while you sleep— whatever way you prefer. After about a couple of weeks, patients notice a visibly whiter smile— which gives you just enough time to get the smile of your dreams before all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

One thing that many patients aren’t aware of is that dental whitening can only be used on natural teeth and teeth that are stained— not teeth that are discolored due to things such as the use of tetracycline.
