Your smile is your confidence booster. It’s how you tell the world that you are happy, secure and friendly. But if you are dealing with stained, dark or misaligned teeth, chances are you aren’t smiling much. But don’t fret…Dr. Holbrook offers the latest in porcelain veneers – the flawless, permanent way for you to get your smile back.
Veneers typically take two appointments.
- At the first appointment, we will take x-rays of your teeth and examine them carefully to ensure that you are a good candidate for veneers.
- Then the surfaces of your teeth will be prepared; some of the surface will be removed. This is minimally invasive but a local anesthetic may be used to ensure your comfort. Impressions of your moth will be taken and you will be fitted with temporary veneers while your permanent veneers are being made.
- Approximately a week to ten days following your first visit, the veneers will be permanently cemented to the prepared tooth surfaces. At this time, we will check to make sure the size and color are correct; any minor changes can be made at this time.
If you are considering veneers, ask yourself these questions:
•Are you unhappy with the color of your teeth because of stains, root canal treatments or age? Bright, white porcelain veneers can cover your dark teeth.
•Are you unhappy with the shape of your teeth, or have unsightly chips or cracks? Veneers can alter the shape of and cover chipped teeth, making them aesthetically pleasing.
•Do you have gaps between your teeth and have considered orthodontia as a solution? Veneers can close spaces and gaps in your teeth quicker than it can take with orthodontics.
Veneers are long-lasting and natural looking. They are also strong, stain-resistant and are a great alternative to crowns. Veneers offer the perfect, permanent solution if you are unhappy with the appearance of your teeth.
